Meet Olivia Howdy

The cook behind Yumyumplate: easy, lighter comfort food that still tastes like Sunday dinner.

Olivia Howdy in her kitchen

Olivia Howdy has never been one to stick to just one thing. She loves learning, creating, and taking on new challenges, but her first spark came from the kitchen. When she was little, she was drawn to cooking through her grandparents, who ran a restaurant. Watching food bring people together showed her that a meal could offer more than something delicious: it could make people feel welcome, cared for, and at home.

That feeling has stayed with Olivia through all the different things she does. Whatever she’s creating, she brings the same hands-on spirit she first found around her grandparents’ restaurant. For her, that’s where it began: not with one perfect recipe, but with the warmth of a busy kitchen and the joy of making something for others.

Yumyumplate is where she shares that kitchen with you. Every recipe here is tested in her own kitchen and written the way she would explain it to a friend at the stove.
